For most people, keeping up with everyday demands of work, family or study can be challenging as it requires a lot of motivation and energy. If you are often struggling with fatigue or anxiety, weight issues, poor sleep, hormone imbalances, digestive issues and just getting through the day, it is likely you are not living life to the fullest. As a degree qualified Naturopath and Metabolic Balance Practitioner® Melisa can help guide you towards optimal health by first doing an assessment of your health which is then followed up with diet and lifestyle recommendations (and sometimes nutritional and herbal medicine prescriptions) that are safe, efficacious and evidenced based. During the years that Melisa has been in clinical practice, she has enjoyed helping many people transform their health and wellbeing.
With over 10 years experience in clinical practice, Melisa has enjoyed helping many people transform their health and well being.
Melisa’s journey into natural health began over 20 years ago, after experiencing significant improvements in her own health when she consulted a naturopath for digestive issues following extensive travel through India. Recognising the profound impact that diet and lifestyle can have on health, she chose to pursue this passion and completed an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine in 2010, followed by a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) in 2012.
Melisa has been in clinical practice for over a decade, providing naturopathic and nutritional medicine support both in person at Golden Grove and via online consultations. She works with a wide range of health concerns, including digestive disorders (IBS, Coeliac disease, IBD, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and food sensitivities), hormonal imbalances (in both men and women, including menopause), weight management, and fatigue.
As a mother of three adult sons, Melisa understands the challenges women face in prioritising their own health in the modern world. Family responsibilities, work demands, and competing commitments often come before self-care, particularly in midlife.
Her approach is empathetic yet supportive, recognising that meaningful changes to diet and lifestyle can feel overwhelming—especially when clients are fatigued or under chronic stress. Melisa takes a client-centred approach, carefully considering each person’s health goals alongside what is realistic and sustainable within their lifestyle.
Melisa has been a Metabolic Balance® Practitioner since 2013 and values the program’s individualised, evidence-informed approach to weight loss. This method is particularly effective for those who have struggled with generic diets that fail to address individual biochemistry. Metabolic Balance® aligns closely with naturopathic wholefoods principles, providing an appropriate balance of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates to support metabolic restoration, reduce inflammation, and promote sustainable weight loss.
Until recently, Melisa lectured at Endeavour College of Natural Health for over five years and supervised naturopathy and nutrition students during their clinical practicum. She is passionate about public education and regularly presents on health topics, believing that even one or two simple, well-applied health strategies can become life-changing habits.
